Telematics Software:

Hall scanning - TIS expands the photo feature

Verbesserte Schadensdokumentation mit PSV3

Bocholt, May 9, 2014

The TIS GmbH again has made handling safer and easier by enhancing the photo function integrated in the mobile telematics solution PSV3-IL, a software designed for hall scanning. The photo function of PSV3 used for quick documentation of damages, loading areas and oversized shipping items.

The corresponding solutions are fully integrated into the regular workflow, which enables employees to document all special cases of handling cargo easy and simple, without putting the hand-held terminal or the scanner aside.
The picture created is automatically linked to the previously scanned package number and thus clearly assigned. New is that the photo function can now also create so-called "XML files". Thus there are many opportunities for the adjacent IT solutions, which may be transport management or archiving systems. Another example of an adjoining IT system is the video-based shipment tracking from Divis (divis.eu) including the DamageVIS claims processing solution. The software complements the images supplied by PSV3 with other data and thus creates unique and comprehensive evidence of damages in a PDF document for insurance and freight forwarding partners.
Also new are the expanded options for data collection during the documentation. Up to 10 data fields are now available as needed. This way, also the area, the gate number and other data can be "added" next to the package number to the produced images. The new software version of PSV3-IL also makes it possible to transfer the name of the logged-on user into the XML file. So it is automatically documented, who has captured the damage to simplify further inquiries of the administration department later. In addition, certain features of PSV3 can now only be called when the user has previously signed in.

Also, the workflow has been optimized again: Every photo has to undergo a visual inspection now before the next picture can be taken. This way, blurry or faulty exposures are noticed immediately.

The now advanced modules from TIS for quick documentation of damages, loading areas and oversized shipping items are now used by many partners of the cargo alliance CargoLine and others. References include, for example, John forwarding in in Eichenzell or the KG Bursped forwarding GmbH & Co, based in Hamburg. Previously, the employees had to get a digital camera first in the event of a claim, create the photos and then take to the office. On the background of high time pressure during the warehouse turnover some employees have rather turned a blind eye to damages in the past. The simplified workflow through the integrated photo function of PSV3 abruptly led to a complete documentation of all damages and an up to 300 percent increased amount of images. The result is a much better protection against claims for recourse with noticeable financial benefits.
