Review: International Supply Chain Conference in Berlin
October 31, 2019
We had a successful premiere at the 36th International Supply Chain Conference in Berlin.
As one of the top-class logistics events, the conference attracted an impressive number of visitors again this year. The peak value of the anniversary event from the previous year was not quite reached. But with about 3200 participants, the congress was still very well attended again this time.
Under the motto "Inspire - Encourage - Act", the who is who of the industry met to explore the latest trends at the accompanying 1,200 square meter exhibition and to listen to groundbreaking lectures by well-known industry experts and representatives from research and science. The speakers inspired their audience with topics such as Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in Logistics, and thrilled with an outlook at the innovations of the coming years.
Trade show booth of TIS GmbH at the 36th International Supply Chain Conference
With the same enthusiasm our somewhat unconventional exhibition stand concept was perceived by the congress visitors.
Positioned strategically perfect in the pavilion, our little oasis invited participants to take a short break from the convention's hustle and bustle.
This time we did deliberately not lay focus on our telematics solutions, but on the TIS GmbH itself.
Because in addition to the competence for future-oriented innovations, we have much more to offer: for example, long-term support as a practical partner and advisor. As representatives both TIS managing directors, Markus Vinke and Peter Giesekus, as well as Bernd Schmitz (head of projecting and support) were personally on site.
Please, take a seat
Our invitation was gladly accepted through all three trade show days and our booth concept seemed to have hit a nerve.
Everything was allowed. People, who just wanted to sit down to drink their coffee or browse a trade fair magazine in comfortable surroundings were just as welcome as visitors looking for small talk or a special conversation with us. Accordingly, many took the opportunity of having a little downtime on one of our seats or to enjoy a sweet chocolate candy as passing by.
Our tasting of Rheder chocolates, a well-known regional specialty, also tempted people to stop at our oasis and proved to be the perfect conversation starter due to its geographic relation to TIS.
As a result, between the chocolates many interesting discussions about TIS and, of course, our products evolved.
Interview with Markus Vinke
Uwe Berndt (Die Wirtschaftsmacher) interviewing Markus Vinke (TIS Managing Director)
On the sidelines of the event, Uwe Berndt from Die Wirtschaftsmacher talked with TIS Managing Director Markus Vinke in an interesting interview.
The atmosphere of optimism in the industry echoes out of the conversation: today, despite a scratched image, logistics is one of the most promising and future-oriented industries with excitingly diverse career opportunities.
Die Wirtschaftsmacher are currently campaigning for a more positive perception of the logistics industry with the "Logistikhelden (Logistics Heroes)" image campaign. The aim is to make the professional potential of the industry more public.
The employees of TIS GmbH are Logistics heroes as well, like Markus Vinke, who in the interview grants a very optimistic and motivating insight into his career from software developer to TIS managing director. Interested new job seekers should expressly feel encouraged to take a closer look at the diverse training and career opportunities at TIS GmbH.
Our conclusion
With our first appearance at the International Supply Chain Conference, we were able to successfully present TIS GmbH in Berlin as a competent and innovative telematics provider and are very satisfied. We want to thank all visitors for the positive feedback. We were especially happy about that and plan to be back next year.
