Since June 15, 2019, the Tacho 4.0 is mandatory in all newly registered trucks, an issue that often raises uncertainties and questions in practice. Our speaker Oliver Krahmer has therefore put together useful tips and informs you in his compact 30-minute webinar starting August 12, 2019. Participation is free.

Tacho 4.0 - What's important to know?
The new regulation is in force: All trucks newly registered after June 15, 2019 must now be equipped with the digital tachograph 4.0 (EU Regulation 165/2014). These tachographs use digital technologies such as satellite-based positioning and short-range communications for control authorities. They are compatible with a variety of other telematics services and apps.
Although the new regulations took effect after a transitional phase and not overnight, many users still have a lot of questions to ask at the moment, most of which arise in practice with the new device. In addition, there is also some uncertainty about the correct and compliant use of the new speedometer by the driver.
Answers to these questions will be provided by a new free webinar.

Ready for the future with Honeywell's Mobility Edge platform
The management and maintenance of different devices in a company often consumes great effort in terms of costs and time.
Short-lived update and version support for software, especially operating systems, can simultaneously shorten the product life cycle of the hardware used, another cost factor.
At the moment, this topic is especially interesting, as Windows will definitively discontinue its support for Windows Mobile* next year. The consequences affect many companies.
Future-ready with Mobility Edge
To increase investment and future security, our hardware partner Honeywell has developed a new Android-based platform in cooperation with Qualcomm and Google that supports versions up to Android 11 - Mobility Edge.
The advantages
The new platform makes companies more flexible and helps to save costs through extended product lifecycles. Mobility Edge provides a unified, dynamic hardware and software platform. Incompatibilities are a thing of the past, according to Honeywell.
Honeywell's Jörg Aßmann explains the advantages of the Mobility Edge platform in two short videos and introduces Honeywell's latest hardware, the Dolphin CK65 handheld.
The mobile device is part of our TISWARE hardware portfolio - now available through TIS. It is equipped with Mobility Edge and comes in the usual high and durable Honeywell quality. The CK65 has a large touch screen and additional hardware keyboard, a powerful, fast processor and solid scanning capabilities. With IP64 certification and resistance to multiple falls from over 2m to concrete, this power pack is ready to face even demanding logistics environments.

Honeywell's Jörg Aßman introduces the Mobility Edge platform, which provides a long product lifecycle by support of Android up to version Android R.
*Microsoft support for Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 has already been discontinued. However, security updates will still be available until the beginning of 2020.
Honeywell ends sale of EDA50
After October 30, 2019, Honeywell's ScanPal EDA50 will no longer be available for purchase. For companies that use the EDA50 and want to stock up with further devices, now is the best time.
Until October 30, 2019 the EDA50 is still part of our TISWARE hardware portfolio and can be ordered from us until then.
Support and repairs are secured for the device with a Comprehensive contract for another 3 years (until 2022) by Honeywell.
The successor model, the EDA51, is already on the market and also available as part of our portfolio through us.
Note: Unfortunately, after a switch to the next device generation, the EDA50 accessory can not be used for the EDA51 because the EDA51 has a different housing.
