Bundesvereinigung Logistik
The German Logistics Association gets the industry moving - TIS is a member
May 9, 2019
There’s movement in the logistics industry, and not just on wheels.
The advancing digitization and companies that have not yet arrived, a negative image, little public recognition, and last but not least an increasingly pressing staff shortage have mobilized the logistics industry and convinced them that initiative is needed to turn things around.
One of the principles of TIS GmbH is to always be at the forefront as a pioneer, both in terms of progress and action.
For this reason, for many years the IT provider has been a member of BVL (Bundesvereinigung Logistik), one of the largest logistics associations in Germany, which is intensively involved with the industry. Find out more about the association today in this article.
The most popular event of the BVL is probably the German Logistics Congress, an industry meeting dedicated to current topics every year. That's why TIS visits the congress every year.
The next Logistics Congress will take place in October 2019.
But BVL also stands behind events such as the "Day of Logistics" or the initiative "logistics heroes" of “Die Wirtschaftsmacher (The Business Makers)”.
These initiatives turn members into co-designers and create the opportunity to become active nationwide, in order to network and to work on the image of the industry.
For example, the Tag der Logistik (Day of Logistics) takes place each year directly in the individual companies and in 2019 attracted around 25,000 visitors, according to BVL.
TIS also participates in this event. Last April, the Bocholters again introduced interested visitors to the latest technologies and solutions at their premises.
It does not matter if the visitors are affiliated with the logistics industry or not. The aim of the Tag der Logistik is to make the company accessible to the general public and provide insights to the industry.
By the way, the next day of logistics will be on 16 April 2020.
More information is available here.
Another very interesting initiative of the BVL are “Die Wirtschaftsmacher”.
Again, TIS is a member.
The initiative wants to put an end to the whining about the conditions and lethargy in the industry and calls for action to help the logistics industry out of its dilemma.
In the second half of 2019, the image campaign “Logistikhelden” (Logistics Heroes)” will be launched nationwide, and, for example, large-format advertisements and posters in various media will introduce people and professions that make an important contribution to logistics every day.
These are, of course, the drivers and suppliers, but in addition so many more who exist mostly outside of the public perception and recognition.
The aim is to raise public awareness of the important economic contribution made by the logistics industry and all those involved and to highlight the often underestimated future prospects in the industry.
TIS is also actively involved in the efforts of the industry.
One of the recent actions of TIS GmbH is a video competition for school graduation classes. The competition is designed to help young people understand the career opportunities at TIS as an IT employer and, at the same time, to interest outsiders more in logistics.
Background BVL
The German Logistics Association has been established over 40 years ago.
It was founded in 1978 in Bremen to promote logistics in all economic sectors.
Over the decades, the association has attracted a comprehensive network of German and international logistics companies, which has been steadily expanding ever since.
In 1984, for the first time, BVL organizes the German Logistics Congress.
The association carries out studies, offers seminars, brings together logistics companies through regular events and honors members who are particularly committed to the industry. With its commitment, over the years the BVL has developed into an important pillar for the logistics industry.
