TIS supports Shippers' Association BWVL
Bocholt, August 7, 2014
As the first telematics provider TIS GmbH now supports the work of the registered Federation Association for Economy Traffic and Logistics (BWVL). This means that TIS has now joined the circle of the twelve official sponsoring members of the association, which includes companies like KRAVAG or GoodYear Dunlop. The BWVL primarily represents the interests of shippers from all sectors of the economy. A majority of the approximately 1,500 member companies of BWVL has its own fleet and thus operates intra-company transportation. There is a lively exchange of ideas regarding technical and economic developments between the BWVL and sustaining members.
"Some shippers from trade and industry use our telematics solutions for many years now. With this background we know exactly about the challenges of the industry and we are confident that we can play a useful role here," TIS CEO Peter Giesekus says. For around 30 years now his company has been offering telematics solutions that provide consistent control, quality assurance and documentation of all logistics processes along the supply chain.
The BWVL is the German professional association for transport and logistics companies. Since its foundation in 1955, the association based in Bonn critically monitors and actively shapes the developments in the transport sector. It is committed to maintaining sustainable liberalization and harmonization of transport markets, conditions for smoothly functioning logistics processes and optimal information and transport infrastructure.
"The logistics industry needs dedicated and strong professional associations with in-depth expertise that fight with a clear view for a good framework. Through our commitment as a sponsoring member we want to assist the BWVL in achieving its goals," says Giesekus.
TIS is a rapidly expanding technology company with about 50 employees and an in-house department for hardware development. The core product of the medium-sized company founded in 1985 is the telematics solution PSV3. It accelerates and optimizes the data exchange between truck and head office.
Among the special features of PSV3 counts the simple set-up of on-board computers that are not permanently installed and on request are even available as a vehicle-independent case solution.
