The ETA (= estimated time of arrival) indicates the estimated time of arrival and has become an integral part of the transport and logistics industry and is therefore also part of our TISLOG logistics software. In some areas, the calculation of the ETA is already mandatory, in other areas it is implemented following customer requests.
In B2C business in particular, it has become standard to inform the customer of the delivery date including the time. However, the estimated time of arrival also provides a lot of help in scheduling, for example in order to avoid exceeding the driving time due to unexpected incidents in road traffic.
The GPS data of a mobile terminal is used for this, with which the ETA can be recalculated over and over again during the tour.
