TIS is now using PTV technology

A new look at logistical processes - TIS replaces Google with PTV technology

TIS ersetzt Google- durch PTV-Technologie

August 12, 2016

PTV technology has convinced: As of now we integrate the technology of developer components of PTV Group in our solutions - and no longer the Google application. For more than 10,000 vehicles of our existing customers in the future PTV xServer will take over visualization and optimization of logistics processes.
Decisive for the change on the technical side was the focus of the PTV solution on truck-compatible routing, consideration of truck-related restrictions included.

The functions of the PTV xServer are mainly used in TISLOG, our solution for mobile order management and telematics. In particular, users of this software will benefit from the sequence optimization in the planning. In addition, the system used for locating of vehicles is converted to PTV maps. The features are optimally adjusted to trucks instead of just cars providing a vastly improved base for the user. Toll rates as well as truck attributes can be easily integrated and mapped.
Thus the system can determine realistic arrival times, also including driving and rest periods and truck profiles.

Improved logistical context

Andre Clusen, Sales Manager at PTV Group, explains: "The map display in logistical context is an extra value for the customers of TIS. The functionality of our developer components can be specifically aligned to truck needs and profiles."
He adds: "This makes them much better suitable for the presentation of logistics processes and functionally more extensive than the comparable Google application."

Mike Ahlmann, sales representative, product manager and administrator at TIS finds important benefits in the integration of PTV xServer and a close cooperation with the PTV Group: "Together, we place great emphasis on high quality, which also transfers to our customers. For their logistics processes we only see advantages. Also ultimately convincing was the strong relationship between our companies."

Clusen adds: "TIS is a very innovative company and optimally using the value of our developer components. Together, we already have finalized many projects in the field of navigation. We are very pleased to have now won the company as PTV xServer partners in addition to the PTV Navigator partnership."

The integration of other PTV xServer functionalities is planned.

Background information: PTV xServer

If you want to integrate geographical and logistical functions into your custom software solution or other client-server architectures, there is no simpler way than using the PTV xServer. Take advantage of the developer components for various applications, such as geocoding, for handling of digital maps, for route calculation, route optimization, for tracking and tracing, map matching, for the calculation of tolls and emissions, for integration of current and historical traffic information, radius search, for geofencing, navigation and vehicle space optimization.
Integrate and extended the modular components in different combinations in your IT structure and by this enhance the range of services you offer. Various options regarding licensing, operating systems, functionality range or hosting are available - whether as developer tools for your web service, a hosted component or as a supplement for .NET client applications.
