The TIS GmbH is specialized in mobile telematics systems and presents the new system-wide approach of the proven telematics solution PSV3 at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich (June 4-7, 2013). By this TIS simplifies the cooperation of logistics partners throughout the supply chain and accelerate the integration of existing IT environments. TIS also introduces two extremely compact, lightweight yet rugged mobile data terminals (MDT) for the telematics system PSV3 with the Dolphin 70e Black by Honeywell and the MC45 from Motorola. TIS is exhibiting in Hall B2, Booth 317/518.

TIS shows the visitors how PSV3 will evolve in the future to a system independent telematics solution. "The use of mobile data separately from the underlying technology, which produce and transport the data," says TIS CEO Peter Giesekus. After the fair, the two mobile data terminals Dolphin 70e Black from Honeywell and the MC45 from Motorola PSV3 are introduced to the customers.

The Dolphin Black is a very robust and multi-functional device in smartphone design with a battery life of up to 12 hours. It can be operated as intuitively and easily as popular mobile phones and tablets, and is still suited even for extreme conditions. The new MDT provides many features such as scanner, pager and phone. With a weight of only 199 grams and a thickness of 1.9 centimeters, the hybrid device fits in any pocket.

In contrast to the Dolphin Black the Motorola MC45 comes with a numeric keypad. Also the mobile computer features a touch screen for signature capturing and a 3.2-megapixel color camera, which enables both image capturing and decoding of 1D and 2D barcodes. The device is also equipped with a high performance laser scanner. The integrated Wi-Fi (802.11 a / b / g) and WWAN connectivity (3.5G GSM HSDPA for voice and data transfer) and also outdoor readable 3.2-inch display round off the features of the MC45.

PSV3 accelerates and optimizes data transfer between truck and headquarters. Among the special features of PSV3 are the easy installation of the on-board computers which are not fixed and can be delivered as a vehicle independent case solution on request. PSV3 is continually being developed and adapted to the needs of customers in the logistics industry.

PSV3 was originally developed as a mobile telematics solution for delivery and pick up in groupage freight. Functions were added in the fields of long-distance transport and inventory handling, so PSV3 can monitor driving times, transmit engine and vehicle data and support navigation. In any case, the driver is included into the existing IT infrastructure of the customer in the best possible way. The Web platform "InfoDesk" is used for convenient control of the telematics and job data, which are sent and received via the PSV3 server from TIS. All those involved in the supply chain can selectively access "their" mobile data via browser. Carriers benefit as well as shippers, logistics service providers or recipients.
