Tachometer archiving with card reader
Tachometer archiving made easy with the 12-slot card reader from TIS
Bocholt, February 25, 2020
A new accessory from TIS now facilitates compliant reading and archiving of the data from the digital tachometer.
Driver cards for the digital tachometer must be read out every 28 days at the latest, the digital tachometer itself at least every 90 days.
If you use TISLOG with the Tacho Archive add-on module as a cloud solution, the data from the digital tachometer is automatically available.
If you are hosting TISLOG on your own server, reading that data has required a little more manual work so far.
For example, equipped with a download key, you have to read one truck at a time in the yard. The collected data must then be read out again. That costs valuable time and manpower.
This step is now considerably simplified with the TISPLUS 12-slot multicard reader from TIS GmbH for the self-hosted version of TISLOG.
Less manual steps save time and labor
The multicard reader can be connected to the tachometer archive computer via a LAN interface and is then able to read both the mass storage data of the digital tachometer and the inserted driver cards by remote connection (a telematicbox Truck 3 is required in the truck).
The data from the tachometer mass storage are downloaded as encrypted and tamper-proof DDD files remotely in a legally compliant manner and then archived as required. To do this, it doesn't matter where the truck is. It is only important that the telematicbox truck 3 has a radio connection in the truck.
The multicard reader is suitable for up to 12 company cards, which enable parallel reading in this way.
With the multicard reader, it is no longer necessary to manually clear the trucks at the depot.
With TISLOG office, the DDD files are downloaded several times a day and are then immediately available for further evaluation. The legally required archiving is done automatically.
