TIS Newsletter December 2018
Review of the year, service announcement, user report and our new sales colleague
December 17, 2018
The year 2018 was a good year for logistics. It was also a good year for TIS. The logistics industry continues to grow, volume growth, profit growth. TIS is also growing. We now have over seventy employees. Almost all TIS customers would also like to see more growth among the specialists, whether drivers or logistics managers. However, there has also been growth in logistics, which caused all parties involved to grow together more strongly. Growth in logistics platforms. We are all challenged to be ready for open platforms, to engage with other players and to exchange interfaces. This also means developing new ideas in order to obtain reliable data from many sources from all available sources with little effort for an improved workflow. Standardized interfaces would make it easier for everyone. Only in this way all actors can master the growing volatility and shorten reaction times.
As a bold consequence, TIS has opened its interface in the form of an open-source interface for third parties for the first time. Different core systems can now communicate more easily. Knowledge and experience from around 20 years of development work and numerous IT projects for the logistics industry have been incorporated here. The individual effort for the participating players and also the costs can be reduced by this interface. Logistics 4.0 needs interfaces. The end customers determine the pace of their digitization. Cost pressure, individualization and complexity remain the top trends that we want and have to master even in the age of digitization.
2019 will be a year of growth, but above all of growing together. Because we have to make each other's lives increasingly easier. Steve Jobs once said, "Doing things the easy way can be harder than the complicated way." But Steve Jobs also said, "Stay hungry, stay foolish." With this in mind, TIS will keep doing very positive work in 2019, helping to make life easier for all of us.
We are looking forward to it.
Enjoy peaceful holidays and have a great start into the New Year!
For the team of TIS

Announcement: Simplified handling of the hardware service from 2019
From January 2019, TIS GmbH will digitally accompany the processing of the hardware service and thus create a significant increase in transparency and efficiency.
Already today, the registration of repairs is handled via the Observer. However, as a TISLOG customer, you no longer need the Observer in the future. You simply use TISLOG office for the repair registration. Right-click on the relevant device in the inventory list to log it in for repair. You will be informed about the following process steps automatically in TISLOG office, starting with the goods receipt at TIS, over the repair steps to the shipping.
Another advantage for you:
The inventory list will provide additional content, including the duration of the CS contract, the number of SIM cards installed, or, for multi-site customers, the associated branch.
