AI: Machine Learning and assistant Tilo
Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in today's world, and more and more companies are turning to AI for a variety of reasons.
At TIS GmbH, we have been working with artificial intelligence for almost ten years and are looking at how we can use it to further improve our TISLOG logistics software. Recently, two of our employees wrote their theses on AI.
1. Master's thesis: Machine learning tool
This thesis focused on the development of a machine learning tool that enables the monitoring of software operations. Mechanisms were also implemented to ensure the continuous improvement of machine learning algorithms based on new data, enabling the algorithm to respond to changes on its own.
The developed tool was integrated into the TISLOG server and is used to detect unusual behavior at an early stage, thus preventing minor problems from becoming major disruptions.
2. Bachelor's thesis: AI assistant Tilo
This thesis focused on the development of an AI assistant that is integrated into our Infodesk 5 platform interface and helps users complete tasks faster and more efficiently by answering questions and providing assistance.
LSVA III
Switzerland has introduced a new heavy vehicle tax, “LSVA III.” This is a further development of the old system for collecting heavy vehicle taxes in Switzerland. The aim of this new generation is to make tax collection even more efficient, transparent, and digital. LSVA III is based on a modern technological infrastructure that enables more precise data collection, improved user guidance, and seamless integration into existing vehicle and logistics systems such as TISLOG.
As an approved NETS provider, we are authorized to collect trip data in Switzerland. Several Swiss companies are already using our system.
LogiMAT and transport logistic
This year, we were represented at the LogiMAT and transport logistic trade fairs. What made this year special was that we redesigned our booth to better showcase our innovative, modern products.
Both trade fairs were a complete success for us. At both LogiMAT and transport logistic, we were able to make interesting new contacts, exchange ideas with our existing customers and partners, and gain a general impression of the current situation in the logistics industry.
TISLOG long-haul traffic tour planning
The TISLOG long-distance transport dispatching system in Infodesk 5 combines vehicle resources, intelligent order management, and map functions with excellent usability and flexible design.
The major advantages of our TISLOG solution
Orders can be easily entered, planned into complete tours, and sent directly to your TLME devices. In addition, contractors can be commissioned directly via contractor portals or links.
Long-distance transport dispatching is connected to freight exchanges and allows freight to be added and deleted with just a few mouse clicks.
TISLOG checklist configurator
Do you use TISLOG departure checks but have specific checkpoints that you would like to add in a simple way? Then our TISLOG checklist configurator is the right tool for you.
With our TISLOG checklist configurator, you can easily create individual checklists for vehicles, trailers, or loading units and add them to the departure check.
If necessary, the checkpoints can be grouped together and organized on three different levels. This ensures a better overview and simplified processing of the individual checkpoints. The classification and order of the various points is also very easy to do using drag & drop.
Webinar Days
This year, we once again held two webinar days. The first took place in May on the topic of “Hall and Yard” and the second in November on the topic of “Special Features of Telematics.”
Both webinars were well received and we received exclusively positive feedback from viewers.
We will also be hosting at least one webinar day in 2026. We will inform you as soon as the details have been finalized.
Guided Navigation
TISLOG can display routes that have been created in the route planning or transport management system as guided navigation.
What exactly does that mean?
Guided navigation refers to pre-planned routes with defined waypoints that are created in the route planning or transport management system. These routes can then be transferred to our TISLOG logistics software via an interface. There, they are visualized as planned tracks for dispatchers in the TISLOG Infodesk. In addition, the route is sent to the driver's device so that the driver receives precise instructions for their planned tour.
40 years TIS and new annex
This year, we celebrated two great events: our 40th anniversary and the construction and move into our second extension.
This means we have reached further milestones that we are very proud of.
A big celebration of TIS's 40th anniversary will take place on June 10, 2026, in the form of our InnoMATIK in-house exhibition. It's best to save the date now. Details will be available at the beginning of next year.
Even though the last extension to the existing building, the first annex, was only three years ago, we needed more workspace for our now more than 100 employees. Thanks to the sustainable timber frame construction, the new building was erected within a few days, so that construction could begin and we could move in within the same year.
Jubilees 2025
In 2025, a total of eight employees will celebrate their company anniversaries:
- Roland Fehr and Peter Schneider: 25 years
- Christian Schmeinck: 20 years
- Michael Potthoff, Sandra Tonn, Marius Thesing, Steffi Gouders, and Daniel Klump: 10 years
These are encouraging figures, as confirmed by Managing Director Markus Vinke: “We are delighted that every year we have several employees who can celebrate a company anniversary. This also shows the outside world that many employees have been working for us for years.” The second managing director, Fabian Bielefeld, adds: “For us, our employees are the basis of our company's success. There are still some people with us who helped build up TIS GmbH. We are very proud of that.”
