Free for Premium Hardware Service customers: Request "dangerous goods" labels for Lithium batteries from TIS
The focus of the ADR * changes, which came into effect on January 1, 2019, is, as before, the topic of Lithium batteries, which, if handled incorrectly and stored incorrectly, pose a risk of explosion and fire. Rechargeable and non-rechargeable Lithium batteries have been classified as dangerous goods Class 9 ** for several years under ADR. With the ADR 2017, Lithium batteries were assigned a separate danger label 9A.
Why is that interesting for TIS hardware customers?
Another part of the changes are accompanying new requirements for packaging labeling. These are also effective when shipping devices with Lithium-ion batteries and also apply to the transport of devices in need of repair, provided that they are equipped with Lithium batteries.
For the changes decided in 2017, a two-year transition deadline had been agreed. The new labeling has been binding since 1.1.2019. A final six-month transitional period expired on July 1, 2019. The new label must now be applied definitively and without exceptions.
What is new?
For the correct package labeling, use of the new label is mandatory; UN number and telephone number must be on the label. For the transport of mobile devices with Lithium-ion battery, the UN number 3481 is used.

With software, small differences often decide whether the application is really useful, lawful, and easy to use.
The differences are often in the detail. That is why at TIS is not only extremely experienced staff is involved in the implementation of the archiving system and the presentation of driving and rest times. The developers at TIS have also taken into account the requirements of the legislature and the customers.
The result is a system without gaps that fully meets all requirements.
How do companies benefit from this in everyday life?
While many companies have to resort to "calculated data" early on Monday and therefore often do not know whether their driver did or did not drive with a "foreign truck" at the weekend or on vacation, TIS will install the driver card immediately after plugging it into the digital tachographs. This allows the dispatcher to see immediately if a driver is not allowed to drive because of a broken weekly rest. In addition, the dispatcher also receives an alert directly in the event of a violation, which indicates exactly the violation the driver has stored on the driver card.
The new archiving system can then be used to directly generate a driver instruction for the corresponding violation and to archive it after signing.
Needless to say, the TISPLUS telematicbox only reads out the so-called signed data remotely, so that the automatic download of the data takes place safely and in compliance with the law.
In addition, due to the special hardware structure at TIS, we can also ensure that the remote download does not disturb any driver-controlled processes and the driver is not disturbed by the download.
What else is very useful?
In the intelligent web portal TISLOG office Infodesk, the above-mentioned data can not only be linked to the corresponding GPS data, but also displayed, evaluated and compared. The software alerts you if data could not be downloaded completely, not on time or in compliance with the law.
The software supports you in the evaluation and all resulting measures by providing suitable forms.
Driving times, rest periods and driving style can be shown to each driver in real time, giving him the opportunity to directly adapt his behavior.
A particular strength of the Tacho Archive: Compensation periods due after the shortened weekly rest are displayed both in TISLOG office Infodesk and on the driver's display in the driver's cab. This is not self-evident and not possible with every system.

Our employees: Andre Tebrügge in support
Andre Tebrügge is a seasoned veteran at TIS. He has been with us for more than 20 years - since 1998 - and works with us in customer support.
After completing his training as an INFORMATION ELECTRICIAN at Deutsche Bahn, he worked for RST in Dingden. Afterwards he completed his military service and then attended his evening job as a service technician at Siemens. After two years of shift work, he finally decided to complete his studies in electrical engineering with a major in communications engineering. He then started working at TIS because he liked the small thriving family business. Due to his many years of regional activity at TIS, he feels very close to our company.
He enjoys spending his free time in the garden and with his family. In good weather, he drives motorcycle with friends, in bad weather he also likes a reading afternoon.
