TIS internal: Accessories for the Zebra TC56 and drag & drop configuration with the TISLOG Live Configurator

In the middle of the summer, we are reporting interesting news from the TIS world - and are looking forward to presenting you some technical innovations and to bring you some unusual TIS news. With the live configurator from TIS, you can configure all mobile devices via drag & drop centrally on a PC. This enables forwarders to flexibly adjust their processes to new customer requirements just-in-time. And to the fans of the Zebra TC56 we are happy to announce: Our practical vehicle holder will go into series production!
There was also a lot of exciting things happening at TIS behind the scenes: we have been visited by a school class dealing extensively with the topic of climate protection and were able to show students how high-tech can help with regard to environment and climate protection. Another exciting experience was our trade with a social enterprise, a workshop for people with disabilities. We exchanged marketing and sales know-how against personality training for our young employees. More will follow ...

TISLOG Live Configurator
With the TISLOG Live Configurator, all mobile devices can be configured centrally via drag & drop on the PC. This enables forwarders to flexibly adapt their processes to new customer requirements as well as to quickly realize specific transport performance features.
How the Live Configurator works:
In the TISLOG Live Configurator, all menus can be edited by drag & drop. With just a few clicks, you can
- Change the order of the work steps
- Add menu items
- Remove menu items
- Display menu items (status: "disabled"). The workflow logic must then activate the entry again.
In this way, for example, the terminal emulation can also be simply dragged into the menu.
Fast adaptation to delivery processes
With the Live Configurator, freight forwarders can configure their devices very quickly with our project managers or independently on the PC. The user interface of the mobile devices is adapted to the logic and individual business processes. All this is no longer complex programming, but is directly defined on the PC and pushed with a few clicks to the correct position.
This way, companies can quickly visualize their process changes and new requirements in the software of mobile devices. Deviations from the standard process can also be displayed flexibly thanks to the Live Configurator. This is particularly interesting for shippers with large fleets that have customers with very different requirements profiles.
With the Device Manager, the created configuration can be easily copied to all devices in use. Companies with several large fleets can also make their own configuration.

Zebra TC56 - compact, strong and available soon with matching accessories from TIS
At this year's transport logistic fair in May, the Zebra TC56 handheld made its debut as the latest member of our TISWARE hardware portfolio. Visitors to our booth were particularly impressed by the small strong one in handy smartphone format.
For this reason, we are pleased that by the end of August we will be able to offer suitable TISPLUS accessories for this mobile computer. The robust TISPLUS vehicle holder for the Zebra TC56 with charging function goes into serial production and can be pre-ordered now.
Further interesting news is also available to all users who are considering using the TC56 in the (transshipping) warehouse: Our experts have just finished the prototype for a robust Scan Handle for ergonomic and fatigue-free scanning in the warehouse.

Swapping Marketing Consulting vs. Workshop on Personality Development
At the first market place event for Bocholt companies and organizations in May, the TISSIS had found a special exchange partner: the Büngern-Technik from Rhede. The Büngern-Technik is a recognized workshop for people with disabilities. We exchanged marketing advice for workshops for our apprentices and young employees.
The Büngern-Technik from Rhede has committed itself to the integration of people with disabilities into working life. In the in-house workshop, among other things, wedge plates for adjustable slats are produced. For this and other proprietary products, the association has "exchanged" free marketing service and marketing advice. At the beginning of July, Peter Int-Veen, our marketing manager, as well as four Siemens employees from Sales, Purchasing and Service for the Büngern-Technik, had carried out a SWAT analysis after a short introductory round.
At the end of the three hours we had an overwhelming table with ideas and suggestions for measures to optimize sales.
In return, a training program for personality development for our AZUBIS - the so-called Perspektiv-Werkstatt - will begin soon. Here the participants learn on the personal level, among others. Openness for different behaviors, the view of individual strengths and their benefits for a common goal, the thinking in alternatives and the ability to work in groups with people with different talents. The training will take place on the 3 x 3 days in the "Büngerntechnik" workshop and will last for six months. Mentally qualified mentors accompany the training and are then available for confidential reflection phases. We are very excited and will surely report on how our apprentices experience this special advanced training.

On the market place, we continued to trade. This way, we have technically upgraded the emergency rescue’s operational vehicle and in return received a first aid training for our employees.
You can also exchange something unusual! This creates completely new networking opportunities and brings many exciting experiences and new knowledge into the company!
Environment: "Climate Journey" in Bocholt with stopover at TIS
On a "climate journey” the ninth graders of the Bocholter Mariengymnasium visited us to learn more about the connection between the sites and the activities there with the climate protection.
The aim was to sensitize young people in particular to the topic and to integrate the subject into the schools and the classroom. "As a publicly active action, the climate journey attracts attention for local climate protection topics and gives companies the opportunity to advertise themselves with climate friendly action," says Bocholt's climate protection manager Karolina Kowalik, who accompanied the students on their journey.
After a visit to the Volksbank and the tour of the photovoltaic plant, the tour continued by bicycle to TIS GmbH. Through our software solution transport routes can be managed more efficiently and thus more climate friendly. In addition, the paperless office is another measure for resource-conserving handling - in up to 95% of the workspaces, TIS GmbH does not use paper-bound documents. An exciting tour of the server room showed the students the possibility of heat recovery for heating of the office. The whole presentation was held by our apprentice Daniel Klump.
The completion of the event was the visit of the landscape architect Bernd Küper. In particular private areas, such as gardens, can contribute part to the positive urban climate. Küper led the young people through his natural garden and illustrated the valuable functions for the urban climate. "The different stations have shown how versatile climate protection in Bocholt is", emphasized Kowalik.
