As part of business processes, information and data represent a valuable asset. In the development of our solutions for the collection and secure exchange of information in logistics, information security, for example, the protection of data against loss, theft, spying or misuse, therefore has a correspondingly high priority for us. The VdS has drawn up recommendations and guidelines to help companies design the security of all areas through which data and information are moved according to the most modern standards. The VdS is an institute for corporate security. With a VdS certification, companies can prove that they are applying the latest safety standards. TIS GmbH is now both VdS10000- and 100100-certified since the beginning of May.
What does that mean?
VdS10000 certification: information security
TIS GmbH had already undergone the process for VdS10000-certification a few years ago. The renewal was due now in spring 2021.
The VdS 10000 guideline is based on the ISO 27001 and BSI basic protection standards.
With questionnaires, the individual degree of fulfillment of a company is determined by the VdS in various fields of action, and the certificate is issued in case of full compliance.
We are pleased that we were able to successfully renew our certification at the beginning of May.
VdS10010-certification: data protection
The sensitive handling of personal data, for example of customers or employees, is not a new topic. But with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which became effective on May 25, 2018, the legislature renews the focus on the responsibility of companies that process data. In order to support them in implementing and complying with the regulation, the VdS has created the VdS 10010 guideline. With an examination based on this guideline, providers can also be certified for their compliant data protection procedures.
We have also undergone the test for VdS10010-certification and passed it successfully.
