Blood Donation Day 2026

The Bocholt-based companies Lebbing automation & drives GmbH and TIS Technische Informationssysteme GmbH jointly organized a blood drive for the Bocholt Technology Park.

On June 30, a blood drive took place at the Bocholt Technology Park. The event was organized by Lebbing automation & drives GmbH and TIS Technische Informationssysteme GmbH. This was the third time the blood drive has been held. What made it special was that all companies in the industrial park were invited to ensure that as many people as possible participated. In addition, for the second time, attendees had the opportunity to register as stem cell donors.

A total of 31 donors showed up, 21 of whom were cleared to donate after a brief screening. There were also a few new registrations for stem cell donation.

Blood donations are especially needed during the summer months, as supplies typically drop during the vacation season. For this reason, Lebbing automation & drives GmbH and TIS GmbH decided to hold their annual blood drive in the summer, just before the summer break.

A single donation can help up to three people, since the donated blood is separated into its individual components. The following blood products are produced: red blood cell concentrate (erythrocytes) for accident victims, surgeries, or cases of anemia; platelet concentrate (thrombocytes), which is particularly important for cancer patients; and plasma (the liquid component of blood), which is used for coagulation disorders or severe burns.

Both companies are pleased that several employees participated in the blood drive again this year, and the German Red Cross (DRK) team also gave a positive assessment. The initiative demonstrates how social engagement is actively practiced together at the Bocholt Technology Park.
