TIS hosting 3rd Innovation Forum in Bocholt
Bocholt, September 1st, 2014
On October 16 the TIS GmbH invites to attend the third Innovation Forum Telematics in Bocholt. The one-day event especially designed for the logistics industry provides an outlook on future hardware and software. Exciting lectures, live demonstrations, a high-profile panel discussion and latest smartphones for professional telematics applications complete the program. The free event hosted by TIS GmbH, specialized in mobile telematics solutions, is aimed at managers and employees in the fields of IT, fleet planning and dispatching seeking professional exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.
One highlight of the event will be a panel discussion on "B2C in the cargo logistics - Challenges and Solutions". The exclusive round of participants includes well-established names of the industry, such as the co-owner of Sander Forwarding Jürgen Wilhelm, CEO of Emons Forwarding Wolfgang Debus and Peter Baumann, Managing Director of the cargo alliance 24Plus. Björn Helmke, previous long-term previous chief editor at DVZ, will be leading through the round.
Another important topic of the third Innovation Forum is dedicated to Smartphones for professional telematics applications. Current devices are presented and evaluated and in a lecture smartphones are compared with rugged industrial devices.
A second lecture discusses the legal pitfalls in the field of Smartphones and BYOD. The acronym BYOD stands for "Bring Your Own Device” and refers to the integration or use of private mobile devices in corporate networks. Specifically, the use of private smart phones as a supposedly cost-effective telematics devices makes BYOD the trending topic of logistics. The lecture will highlight the privacy issues and explain the correct use of the equipment in the vehicle in order to avoid fines and penalty points in the traffic register.
Equally interesting is likely the outlook for the coming next years at upcoming devices from Motorola (soon Symbol Technologies again) and Honeywell. In addition to future hardware, the Innovation Forum is also devoted to operating systems and the actual software applications. Here TIS promises a "preview of brand new software with entirely new possibilities". The host provides an outlook on the planned new version of the telematics solution "PSV3". The new development in the field of mobile devices will be largely independent from the hardware in use. There will also be a separate module for process organization which allows the software to be customized to the requirements of customers without programming skills.
The third Innovation Forum Telematics starts at 9 a.m. and is expected to end at 5 p.m. Location of the event is the TIS Tower, which opened in 2013 in the Müller-Armack-Str. 8 in 46397 Bocholt. The new facility can be toured throughout the day. Registration is possible at any time by e-mail to the address email@example.com.
