Mobile Order Management
Telematics: ÖBB subsidiary commissioning TIS

TIS GmbH, which specializes in mobile telematics solutions, has received an order from European Contract Logistics Austria GmbH, a subsidiary of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), for providing a mobile order management system for 450 vehicles.
Within the project, not just a new tracking and tracing system is introduced, but also the loading of the contracted vehicles is supported by barcode technology. Collection orders are sent directly to the vehicle and a paperless processing is being introduced, including integrated scanning and photo documentation of the entire workflow from collection and loading to delivery.
The new system will be integrated into the existing transportation management system of Weber Data Service and will thus enable new lean processes in the cargo handling and a highly efficient quality management.
The first vehicles will be equipped in April 2016. Also the scanners of the type MC67 as well as related equipment will be supplied by TIS. The application is hosted in the TIS data center.
