Record trade show transport logistic 2019, further appointments at TIS and employee presentation
June 19, 2019
This year our exhibition team was constantly busy at transport logistic in Munich. Telematics solutions are in high demand as never before and we presented a whole range of new products to "see and feel" at our stand. Also well attended were our booth parties, which this year were even bigger than last time thanks to our sponsors Honeywell, Panasonic and Zebra. You can read more about our trade fair presence in this issue.
We also have new dates for you. Sign up for our Webinar Driving and Rest Time on June 24th. There are still some spots available.
And we introduce you to our colleague, Daniel Schlütter, from the TIS sales department.
Enjoy reading this issue.

10 percent more exhibitors, 5 percent more visitors, one more hall. The transport logistic in Munich broke its own records this year. More than 2,000 exhibitors from 63 countries presented their products spread over ten halls (a total of 125,000 square meters of exhibition space). According to the Managing Director of Messe München, Stefan Rummel, around 64,000 visitors from 125 countries were interested in the rich variety of offers and used the opportunity to “see and feel“ the novelties, as well as for personal consultation and networking.
Even uncertainties such as the trade war between the US and China, the driver shortage - two of the key topics on the event - or Brexit do not change the fact that logistics is essential. In the opinion of some experts, these even add value to the industry.
Logistics companies react and stay up-to-date.
For many companies, digitization is no longer a mere advertising bubble with little tangible benefit. Digital technology has made its mark in all areas of logistics and has become an indispensable part of quality assurance. Cost reduction due to less losses or delays, more transparent supply chains and more satisfied customers - decision makers have recognized the advantages of digital data processing in transport and the technological developments have become very popular. Digitalization, telematics and artificial intelligence also determined the conversations at the stands, in lectures and discussions.
Accordingly, to the joy of the highly motivated TIS exhibition team our booth was also buzzing busy.
We had brought a huge package with new software modules and hardware products. Whether add-ons for our TISLOG logistics software, TIS-certified TISWARE hardware for trucks and goods handling or our in-house developed TISPLUS accessories - the interest in our products was enormous and our team was continuously occupied with consultations.
For the first time this year, a delegation from Wirtschaftsförderung Bocholt (Business Development Bocholt) decided to visit the exhibiting companies from the region live at transport logistic.
Ludger Dieckhues, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Bocholt, appeared in person at the TIS GmbH stand to get an overview of the offered products and to have a chat or two.
“We are interested in the trends of the industry and, of course, the companies from Bocholt," says Dieckhues. "You can sense that the economy is developing at this industry meeting point.”
On the TIS booth party on three evenings the atmosphere became increasingly relaxed after a busy day. Exhibitors, customers, visitors and colleagues stopped by at our booth to conclude the eventful day with a cold beer or something non-alcoholic.
One or the other exchange of the day continued here and some visitors took advantage of the soon to be rare opportunity for a conversation with our esteemed colleague, Peter Giesekus, who will retire from TIS in November due to age. Also the party sponsors, Honeywell, Panasonic and Zebra, made themselves available for questions on their respective evening.
With live music by our house band BLUE TIS it became clear quickly how much our booth parties have turned into a well-known and popular people magnet in recent years.

“The transport logistic 2019 was a great and successful fair in our view! Our thanks go to all those who have done a great job," summarizes TIS Managing Director Markus Vinke.
"We know from past trade fairs that Wednesdays and Thursdays in Munich are usually the focus days. Therefore, on these two days we were represented with 10 colleagues at the booth and that was a good thing - because all were involved continuously in discussions. Many long-standing customers, but just as many new faces showed great interest in our fair novelties. Last but not least, our evening stand party was well attended again and contributed to the feel-good atmosphere for all visitors."
Here comes the appointment blocker for the next transport logistic, mark the date already today: May 4-7, 2021!
