An exciting year is nearing its end. The ongoing Corona situation, inflation, economic growth and a new federal government, there were and are many topics, some of which also affect the logistics industry. But apart from delivery problems, price increases and staff shortages, this year also had a lot of positive sides. In the last newsletter of the year, I want to review these positive aspects. There is enough talked and written about everything else.
Our team continues to grow
We were able to welcome a total of 14 new employees this year and are pleased about an extremely low fluctuation. Our team now comprises almost 90 employees. The new building, which we moved into and presented last year, is filling up noticeably.

Privacy protection certification of TIS GmbH
For the first time, we have been certified in 2021 not only for IT security, but also for data protection. With the connected management systems, we have established a very good overall security that protects our data and also yours from abuse.
Smooth 3G shutdown
The 3G termination of various providers has been carried out this year, as expected, without major restrictions. Current devices support at least 4G. Also, many devices sold in recent years are already on the 4G standard. If you are still using devices that support a maximum of 3G and fell back to 2G due to the discontinuation, please feel free to contact us. We will support you in finding a good solution.
Numerous extensions from our software development
Comprehensive fleet management
There has been a lot of development in our core area of software. Our software portfolio now offers such a broad product range that this is a unique selling point in itself.
One of the big topics at TIS in 2021 was fleet management. There are many building blocks for this, such as our Tacho Archive, Pre-trip inspection and driver's license control.
These three modules alone cover the most important legal requirements for a fleet manager.
Digital consignment note integrated in TISLOG
The integration of the eCMR in our software is complete. However, we will continue to expand this and add providers in the upcoming months.
Our publication and presentations on the topic of "eCMR" have been met with a lot of attention.
This is not surprising, because the digital consignment note offers a lot of savings potential, starting with less paper consumption, time savings and, eventually, financial benefits. Sustainability with a savings effect on operating costs, a rare but very attractive combination.
Autonomous loading equipment management
We can now handle the loading equipment management completely independently in the TISLOG logistics software. Loading equipment accounts can be managed and the corresponding loading equipment can be booked to or from an account.
Automatic OS updates centrally controlled
If a corresponding contract exists automatic OS updates can be controlled centrally via our cloud in a simple process, including release by our software development. This enables further simplifications in the operational use of our telematics solution.

German Telematics Award for TIS GmbH
The software enhancements we have released this year, but of course also our proven and intuitive order management for on the road and the office as a whole, have certainly contributed to us being awarded. This December we proudly accepted the "German Telematics Award 2022" in the field of "Transport Management".
We are starting the year 2022 with positive expectations and are planning interesting extensions and added values that we will offer you in the future.
We are happy to already reveal two software topics that we are particularly looking forward to in the new year:
Tour optimization in local traffic
In the TISLOG logistics software, local transport dispatching has already been in use for some time and has proven itself in practice. In 2022, there will be fully integrated tour optimization for both local and long-distance traffic. Initial results on the savings potential show that tour optimization can also be used successfully in local traffic and that the savings surpass the costs of tour optimization in a very short time.

Infodesk Web Portal Version 5.0
Our Infodesk web portal will undergo a redesign, which will be rolled out with version 5.0. For Infodesk 5.0, we are using new web components and reusable elements (known from the smartphone are the "widgets"). The required apps are then dynamically assembled from the widgets. On the one hand, this gives us significantly greater flexibility and, very importantly, clarity and ergonomics.
A little patience is still necessary until the completion of version 5.0 of Infodesk. But we will be able to present many new apps in Infodesk 5.0 in 2022 already.
