The Situation.

The forwarder Ansorge is mainly involved in full truckload and combined traffic. The combinations of trailer truck and transport materials, carriage, swap trailers or attached trailers are constantly changing at the combined transport specialists, located in southern Germany.

The Task.

Ansorge was looking primarily for a solution that supports the disposition and allows a reliable exchange of forwarding data with the drivers. In addition, the system should manage the pallets and the load securing tool and should provide a navigation function with truck restrictions.

The Project Implementation.

The solution conceived by TIS included equipping 120 trucks with mobile data terminals (MDT). The mobile hardware can also read driving and rest times of the digital tachograph over a Bluetooth connection.
It provides a well-arranged interface with integrated navigation function. Now all the drivers can get their jobs via GPRS directly to the display of the MDT.
Current combinations of towing and towed vehicles can promptly be documented with the help of barcode scanning, as well as the change to the train.
For the first time the interfaces in combined traffic can thus be mapped with high reliability.
