Instead of gifts: donations to social projects

It has already become a tradition with us to support different small social projects in Germany and the world.
Instead of the company Christmas gifts this time, for example, there was the donation of a moped for a school in a small African village of Kalangala. We have considered especially three social projects for children in Germany, Africa and South America this Christmas.

Foundation Aktion Sonnenschirm
The Foundation Aktion Sonnenschirm in Bocholt among other things is involved in the support of children of the Bishop Ketteler School, a school for mentally handicapped children. The association subsidizes and finances many projects such as summer camps or school camps that would not be possible without the financial support of the association.

A moped for Kalangala

The association Kalangala in Bocholt for many years supports the small village of Kalangala in Uganda. The association is especially concerned about the AIDS orphans, who live there. Meanwhile, a school complex was built, aided by Kalangala eV. The school center includes the equipment of the school and sufficient food, medical care and the salaries of teachers. The new moped was urgently needed, because the school is located far from the nearest town. Now it's much easier to run the necessary errands.

Fun & Mercy
The name is the concept. Everyone knowing Peter Giesekus knows that priggish benefit weeping is not his business. But to buy the children in Kisumu at Lake Victoria a school to ensure that they get something decent to eat for lunch, simply gives joy to him and his colleagues. "We want a couple of children in Kenya and of course also make ourselves to be lucky." Therefore FunAndMercy meanwhile supports two schools in Africa and a project in Brazil. Administrative costs do not exist. For example, FunAndMercy pays for building materials, the gasoline for the school bus, the salary of a teacher or lunch meals.
